IBiSA is responsible for organizing school sports tournaments throughout the school year. Some sports we use as qualifiers and others we include directly at the end of the school year in the big event of Weganan Escolar or “WE”. The idea of this program is to motivate kids and schools to participate in our yearlong sporting tournaments with a chance to win funds to help with school materials or equipment. “WE” is in collaboration with the Minister of Sports and his department. While IBiSA focuses on the logistics and organization of the event, the Minister of Sports takes care of the marketing promotion of the event and creating funds available for the winning schools.
The “WE” event is a one-week completely packed event with a spectacular show opening ceremony, an Award ceremony, and a closing ceremony making it something memorable mainly for the school kids.
The Goal:
The primary purpose of Weganan Escolar or “WE” is “The Promotion of Learning.” Teachers/coaches have an essential role in fostering athletics’ educational value.
This subdivision is responsible for hosting and organizing international interscholastic competitions between different neighbor islands. But also attend meetings with other regional partners and islands in order to create more sports opportunities for students.
